      Spahn accumulated 363 career wins in his 21 year career, a record for a left-handed pitcher with the most wins in the post-1920 live-ball era, and the 6th most winning pitcher in history. Additionally, Spahn won 20 or more games in 13 seasons and retired with the most strikeouts (2583) for a left-handed pitcher. He captured both the CY Young award and a World Series Championship in 1957. He was inducted on the first ballot into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1973.
