10-time All-Star Steve Carlton ranks second for both lifetime strikeouts and wins of any left-handed pitcher. He briefly held the lifetime strikeout record of any pitcher from 1982-1984, until being passed by Nolan Ryan. He was the first pitcher to win 4 Cy Young Awards. He led both the Cardinals and Phillies to World Series Championships, won a Golden Glove and the pitching Triple Crown. His most impressive statistics include leading the NL 4 times in wins, 5 times in strikeouts, and once for ERA. He’s won 20 or more games 6 times in his 24 year with 6 different teams.

Carlton was inducted on the first ballot into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1994.
