Kaat received 16 consecutive Golden Glove awards from 1962-1977 and finished his career only 17 wins shy (283) of the 300 wins milestone. Though best known while pitching for the Senators/Twins, Kaat pitched for the Yankees 1979-1980, and more recently for his 30 year broadcasting career in which he won 7 Emmy Awards for Outstanding Live Sports Coverage.
