  • The former Kansas City Monarchs great played 12 seasons in the Negro Leagues. Following his career in the Negro Leagues, O’Neil became a scout for the Chicago Cubs and was responsible for recruiting future Hall of Famers Ernie Banks and Lou Brock.

    O’Neil is among the recent 2022 inductees to the Hall of Fame.
