The 300 Win Club is a milestone that has only been reached by 24 pitchers, starting with Pud Galvin in 1888. From 1982-1990, 6 pitchers joined the club, 5 of which are included here (Seaver, Perry, Carlton, Niekro and Sutton), but Spahn and Wynn are among only three pitchers who joined the club from 1924-1982. Warren Spahn is 6th on the all-time wins list (363 wins) with Cy Young dominating the top of the list with 511 wins. Approaching the 300 win milestone has become increasingly elusive with pitching rotations expanding from 4 to a 5-man rotation, which has decreased the number of games a pitcher starts per season. As a result, only 4 pitchers have pitched 300 or more wins in the last 30 years, the most recent being Randy Johnson in 2009.
Of the 24 members of the club, 23 are inductees of the National Baseball Hall of Fame (Roger Clemens being the only exception).
