6-time All-Star Lou Brock became the greatest base stealer since Ty Cobb, breaking Cobb’s all-time career stolen base record in 1977, a record that stood for almost 50 years. In 1974, Brock broke Maury Wills single season stolen base record with 118 stolen bases. Brock led the league in stolen bases for 8 out 9 consecutive seasons. Brock retired in 1979 with a career record of 938 stolen bases, which was only surpassed by Rickey Henderson in 1991. Brock is one of 32 players to join the 3000 hit club milestone with 3023 career hits.
Warren Spahn accumulated 363 career wins in his 21 year career, a record for a left-handed pitcher with the most wins in the post-1920 live-ball era, and the 6th most winning pitcher in history. Additionally, Spahn won 20 or more games in 13 seasons and retired with the most strikeouts (2583) for a left-handed pitcher. He captured both the CY Young award and a World Series Championship in 1957.
