Ralph Kiner is remembered as the game’s premier power hitter, although his career was cut short by a back injury after only 10 seasons. He maintained his love for the game with a broadcasting career that lasted over 50 years, almost entirely devoted to working with the New York Mets since their inception in 1962, calling their appearances in the 1969 and 1973 World Series.
He was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1975.
